"Manufacturing+Services" adds new momentum to the manufacturing industry
2024-05-28
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Guidelines for the Construction of Service oriented Manufacturing Standard System", proposing to basically form a standard system that can support the innovative development of service oriented manufacturing by 2025, and to revise more than 20 service oriented manufacturing standards in total, gradually establishing a relatively complete service oriented manufacturing standard system. This provides guidelines and guidelines for the better development of service-oriented manufacturing.
Unlike traditional production-oriented manufacturing, service-oriented manufacturing is a new manufacturing model and industrial form that integrates manufacturing and service development. Vigorously developing service-oriented manufacturing is of great significance for enterprises to improve quality and efficiency, form new competitive advantages in the industry, better meet market demand, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry. It is precisely for this reason that our country attaches great importance to the development of service-oriented manufacturing. In recent years, a series of institutional documents have been issued, such as the "Special Action Guidelines for Developing service-oriented manufacturing" and the "Guiding Opinions on Further Promoting the Development of service-oriented manufacturing", effectively promoting the continuous growth and strengthening of service-oriented manufacturing. Starting from the relatively lagging standardization work, promoting the establishment of a comprehensive service-oriented manufacturing standard system will inevitably usher in new development opportunities for service-oriented manufacturing.
"Manufacturing+services" make the manufacturing industry more warm, which in turn can enhance the value and market share of products. The traditional manufacturing industry is relatively "cold", and all products are produced on assembly lines. More often than not, customers are adapting to the products. To promote the development of service-oriented manufacturing, we need to consider issues from the perspective of customers, shift from mainly processing and assembly to "manufacturing+service", and from simply selling products to selling "product+service". This fully meets the personalized needs of customers and enhances the interaction between products and customers. Such encouraging changes are undoubtedly more conducive to the long-term development of enterprises.
From a practical perspective, service-oriented manufacturing is the trend, with some well-known manufacturing enterprises accounting for over 50% of their service revenue. Adapting to the trend is a wise choice for manufacturing enterprises, as well as a necessary requirement for expanding profit margins and winning market initiative. However, it should be pointed out that the foundation of service-oriented manufacturing must be manufacturing, which is based on the premise of "+services" with manufacturing as the core, rather than ignoring manufacturing and talking about service model innovation, which is definitely unsustainable. Building a service-oriented manufacturing standard system, setting rules and regulations, undoubtedly has important guiding significance.
The development of service-oriented manufacturing presents both opportunities and challenges for manufacturing enterprises. On the one hand, the development of service-oriented manufacturing requires a certain amount of capital and talent investment, and needs to be integrated with new technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, and the Internet of Things. This is a big challenge for many enterprises. However, from another perspective, the combination of manufacturing and services has increased the profit margins of enterprises, and some small businesses with strong flexibility can also participate in competition, which is a good thing for economic development.
Of course, the development of service-oriented manufacturing still needs to be tested by the market. Although there have been many successful experiences in the past, there will definitely be twists and turns on the future path. Adhering to a firm direction, riding on the sail of policies, and stabilizing the ship of innovation, "manufacturing+service" will surely create a vibrant flower of hope.
